After several years of being run down and faded, the place has had a wonderful refit. A really good selection of beers, 8 pumps and half a dozen more on tap. A load of fancy find and it's a very nice place to sit in, the décor is spot on. Haven't tried the food yet.

Edit - Have tried the food now - and very good it was too!

Organised a big group meal with them and found the management and staff to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. I look forward to going back.

I first of all went to the nags head. On entry I was refused a simple drink as I was dressed in "work clothes". I immediately walked out after the rudeness and lack of tact from the staff. I was told (after a 12hr day at work and traveling 3 hrs to get to the location) that they would not sure me.
So I went next door. THE BOAR FACE. What a fantastic reception from the bar staff. They were polite conversational when we wanted to talk and also kind and empathetic towards our long day and discussed about other pubs views. We had a very good pint which was very good. You could tell that the lines were cleaned properly which you don't find a lot. We then had steak and it was cooked to perfection not to say that it was served on an extremely timely fashion. The chips were 3 times cooked and can say ( I dine all over the country in extremely fine restaurant's) were the best I've ever had. The wine was second to none and the service was perfect. I would recommend this to anyone.

A lovely little spot on the Thames to go for lunch. It was clean, had a lovely atmosphere with modern decor. We went for lunch and the food that was on offer looked very promising, we were glad to see a children's menu on offer for the little one as well. On the lunch menu they do 2 courses for £10 which is fairly reasonable. I started with the duck and chicken terrine which was delicious and a friend had the soup, which looked devine. What followed was even more delectable, chicken, mushroom and garlic linguine. My wife and daughter both had a fish finger and tartar sandwich. They were both left a little underwhelmed, for the price you would expect a little quality but it seems more effort is put into the presentation department. It looked the part but unfortunately was very bland. For me a fantastic meal so far but for others not so good, what really let The Broad Face down though was when we had to wait 30 minutes for dessert, now this would have been acceptable on a busy Friday night but not on a Wednesday lunchtime when we were the only people in the restaurant. Overall this was an average experience with fairly good food but I would advise on staying away if you only want a quick bite. On the plus though, they do have an above average gin selection.
