  Good beer. Good food, by and large. The scotch egg with black pudding was excellent. The pork crackling strips were very hard and tough rather than gooey and crunchy - I was rather disappointed in them. Burger was pretty good. Welcoming open fire and comfortable seats. TV with a quiz advert on rotation was extremely annoying... And parking around the pub is a problem. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I could see myself returning if in the area.

  Popped in on the way home from a business trip for something to eat, but was told they were no longer serving from the menu as it was gone 7pm! We were kindly offered to browse the menu of hot bar snacks by the friendly staff and as we were both ravenous we have it a go..... And glad we did! Great food and great portion size for a "snack!" Lovely decor and atmosphere. Should I find myself in Abingdon again I shall certainly be stopping bye!!

  Visited here on a day trip to Abingdon. As a real ale fan it was excellent for beer. We sat outside in the beer garden, which isn't pretty but is perfectly functional. Food was fantastic. Service was also excellent. Awesome pub.

  We went to this establishment today to celebrate our wedding, just a small group of friends and family. The staff were really helpful and the food was wonderful - good sized servings of food and great quality. Can't wait to go back.

  One of the best pubs in Abingdon. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits.
  
  Food is the highlight. Sunday roasts are amazing, you will need to book.
  
  They now have a smoker so produce a great range of smoked and BBQ food options. Great alternative to the usual pub grub.
  
  Regular beer festivals as well.
